Francesco Bellei, the 16-year-old newcomer to the Fantic family, came close to securing a podium spot in the final 125 standings at the 2025 Internazionali d’Italia. In Montevarchi, he showed impressive speed from the very beginning, qualifying third in the sole practice session. However, in the first moto, he got stuck at the start gate along with other riders and had to fight his way back from the rear of the pack. Bellei charged through the field to finish seventh, setting the fastest lap of the race—a clear sign of his strong connection with the Fantic XX 125.
In the second moto, Bellei got a better start but a fall on the opening lap hindered his chances of a stronger result, limiting him to 14th place. Despite the final result not reflecting his high potential, Bellei’s debut with the Fantic Factory Racing EMX team showed he is already on the right track ahead of the EMX125 European Championship, which kicks off on the 15th and 16th of March in Cozar, Spain.
That same date is also circled on the calendar for Simone Mancini, last season’s Junior Vice World Champion, who is now competing on the Fantic XXF 250. At Montevarchi, Mancini attempted to take part in the time practice session but decided to sit out both MX2 motos due to back pain. Together with the team, the decision was made to avoid any risks and allow him to regain full fitness in preparation for his main target—the EMX250 European Championship.
Francesco Bellei:
“In race 1, I got stuck at the gate and had to chase from the back. I set the fastest lap of the moto, but unfortunately, the start compromised my result. In race 2, I had a decent start, but then I crashed on an uphill section. It took me a long time to get back on the bike, and my race was over. I am a bit disappointed because the potential was there to do well, but we are still taking a lot of positives from these first two races with Fantic and my new team. We will keep working!”

“We decided to sit out the races with Simone Mancini as he struggled with back pain that emerged during the week. So, we only lined up in the 125 class, where Francesco Bellei showed good speed by setting the third-fastest time in the morning session. Unfortunately, in race 1, an issue with the starting gate left him at the back of the pack, but he recovered well to finish seventh, posting the fastest lap of the moto. In race 2, a mistake compromised his final result. Despite this, these two races have been positive. Francesco has good race pace and maintains his speed throughout the moto. We will keep working to fine-tune a few small details, but we are confident ahead of the European Championship

Francesco Bellei, 16enne new entry nella famiglia Fantic, ha sfiorato il podio finale della 125 agli Internazionali d’Italia 2025. Al Miravalle di Montevarchi ha messo in mostra un’ottima velocità fin dalle prove cronometrate, segnando il terzo posto nel gruppo unico di qualifica. In gara 1 però è rimasto sotto al cancelletto di partenza insieme ad altri piloti ed è stato costretto a una grande rimonta dal fondo del gruppo. È risalito fino al settimo posto facendo segnare il tempo più veloce della manche, a conferma del buon feeling con la Fantic XX 125.
In gara 2 è partito meglio ma una caduta nel corso del primo giro ha compromesso il risultato finale, non permettendogli di andare oltre la 14esima posizione. Al suo esordio con il Fantic Factory Racing EMX, Bellei ha comunque dimostrato di essere già sulla strada giusta in vista del Campionato Europeo EMX125 al via il 15 e 16 marzo a Cozar in Spagna.
Una data segnata anche sul calendario di Simone Mancini, il Vice Campione del Mondo della 125 della passata stagione, ora impegnato in sella alla Fantic XXF 250. A Montevarchi ha provato a scendere in pista per le prove cronometrate ma ha rinunciato alla due manche della MX2 a causa di un dolore alla schiena. Una decisione presa in accordo con il team per evitare rischi e permettergli di ritrovare la sua forma migliore in vista del suo obiettivo principale, l’Europeo EMX250.
Francesco Bellei:
“In gara 1 mi sono bloccato sotto il cancello ed ero costretto ad inseguire. Poi ho fatto segnare il miglior tempo in pista, peccato per la partenza. In gara 2 sono partito discretamente, purtroppo però sono caduto in una salita. Ci ho messo tanto tempo a rialzarmi e la gara era andata. Ho un po’ di amaro in bocca perché il potenziale ci sarebbe stato per fare bene ma ci portiamo a casa comunque molte cose positive dopo queste prime due gare con Fantic e il mio nuovo team. Continueremo a lavorare!”

“Abbiamo preferito non far correre Simone Mancini a causa di un dolore alla schiena che è emerso durante la settimana. Così siamo scesi in pista solo nella 125, con Francesco Bellei che ha fatto segnare un buon terzo tempo in mattinata. Purtroppo in gara 1 c’è stato un problema al cancello di partenza, è partito ultimo ma è riuscito a recuperare bene fino alla settima posizione, con il miglior tempo di manche. In gara 2 invece un errore ha compromesso il risultato finale. Queste due gare sono state comunque positive. Francesco ha un buon passo gara e tiene bene la manche. Lavoreremo ancora per risolvere qualche piccola imprecisione ma siamo fiduciosi in prospettiva del Campionato Europeo.”
