The Fantic XX 125 riders showcased their speed from the very start of practice. Noel Zanocz secured pole position, and Simone Mancini was third of his group, while Douwe Van Mechgelen qualified in 14th position.
In race 1 on Saturday afternoon, Zanocz got off to a fast start and quickly moved into the top 3 within the opening lap. By lap 5, he had taken over the lead. Unfortunately, a technical issue forced him to retire from the race. Mancini, on the other hand, didn’t have the best start, finding himself in the middle of the pack after the first right-hander. He charged through the field to reach the leading group and, with three laps to go, took the lead to secure his third race win of the season. Douwe Van Mechgelen finished 16th after recovering from a costly first-lap crash.
Heavy rain overnight shook things up for the second race on Sunday morning. Simone Mancini positioned himself in the top 5 right from the get-go, while Noel Zanocz made quick and decisive passes after a challenging start. Despite the difficult track conditions, both riders maintained a strong race pace, with Mancini finishing third and Zanocz fourth. Unfortunately, Douwe Van Mechgelen was forced to retire after a strong start that saw him fighting in the top 10.
After crossing the finish line, Mancini was docked 10 positions for not respecting a yellow flag. The penalty significantly impacted the GP outcome, dropping the Italian from first to sixth overall, a result that didn’t reflect his strong performance on track. It was an unfortunate weekend for the Fantic Factory Racing EMX125 squad, with Noel Zanocz now trailing the new championship leader by just six points. The title will be decided in the final round in Spain at the end of September.
Simone Mancini:
“It is such a shame to lose the victory. Unfortunately, the track conditions on Sunday morning were really tough. With all the mud, my helmet became very heavy, and I could barely see for most of the moto. Because of this, I didn’t notice the yellow flag at all, but rules are rules, and we respect the decision of the race direction.”
Noel Zanocz:
“Unfortunately, I lost a lot of points on Saturday. I did my best on Sunday after a tough start, but the conditions were very demanding. Even though I managed to make up some ground, it wasn’t enough to reclaim the red plate. I am still close to the championship leader, and one thing is for sure – we will fight till the end!”
Vittoria di manche per Mancini nell’EMX125 ma esito amaro in Svizzera
Fin dalle prove, i piloti Fantic XX 125 inseriti nel primo gruppo hanno ancora una volta dimostrato la loro velocità. Noel Zanocz ha fatto segnare la pole position e Simone Mancini si è inserito in terza posizione, mentre Douwe Van Mechgelen si è qualificato in 14° posizione.
Al via della prima gara Mancini non è riuscito a trovare una buona partenza e si è ritrovato solo a metà gruppo. Grazie ad una condotta di gara magistrale ha recuperato posizioni giro dopo giro fino a raggiungere il gruppo di testa. A tre giri dalla fine è passato in prima posizione e ha festeggiato la sua terza vittoria di manche della stagione.
Era partito meglio Zanocz che aveva preso il comando della corsa al quinto giro ma purtroppo è stato costretto al ritiro a causa di un problema tecnico. Sabato complicato anche per Douwe Van Mechgelen che è caduto al primo giro e ha chiuso gara 1 in 16° posizione.
La pioggia abbondante caduta durante la notte ha rimescolato le carte per gara 2 in programma domenica mattina. Simone Mancini si è inserito nelle prime posizioni fin dalla partenza e Noel Zanocz è stato veloce e deciso a passare dopo una prima curva complicata che lo aveva visto oltre la 20° piazza. In condizioni di pista molto difficili, entrambi hanno mantenuto un ottimo ritmo di gara, con Mancini che ha tagliato il traguardo in terza posizione, seguito da Zanocz al quarto posto. Douwe Van Mechgelen era partito forte ma purtroppo un problema l’ha estromesso dalla gara quando stava lottando nella top 10.
Tagliato il traguardo, Mancini è stato retrocesso di 10 posizione per non aver rispettato una bandiera gialla, ed è scalato in tredicesima posizione. Una penalità che ha compromesso anche l’overall, il pilota marchigiano ha perso la vittoria del GP e si è dovuto accontentare del sesto posto che non rispecchia i valori mostrati in campo. Un weekend sfortunato per il team Fantic Factory Racing EMX125, con Noel Zanocz che si trova ora ad inseguire ma a soli 6 punti dal nuovo leader di campionato. Il titolo si deciderà dunque nella prova finale in Spagna a fine settembre.
Simone Mancini:
“È un vero peccato perdere la vittoria in questo modo. Purtroppo domenica mattina le condizioni erano al limite, il fango appesantiva molto il casco e non vedevo quasi nulla per tutta la manche. Per questo non ho visto nemmeno la bandiera gialla ma ovviamente le regole sono regole e rispettiamo la decisione presa dalla giuria.”
Noel Zanocz:
“Sabato purtroppo ho perso tanti punti. Domenica ho fatto del mio meglio dopo una partenza complicata, in condizioni veramente difficili sono riuscito a risalire bene ma non è bastato per riprendermi la tabella rossa. Siamo comunque vicini in campionato ed una cosa è certa, lotteremo fino alla fine!”
