Young riders of the 125 class proved their speed and strength. In the time practice there was an excellent performance by Noel Zanocz who set the second fastest time. Simone Mancini was fifth and young Douwe Van Mechgelen was 14th.
Solid start of Race1 for Mancini who was the protagonist of a thrilling start and conquered the second spot. Simone kept the position for some laps but lost ground and dropped to sixth place. Noel Zanocz struggled at the start and was fifth after the first lap, but the rider worked his way up and took the finish line in third place. Van Mechgelen, who was back from an injury which kept him far from races for a long time, rode a phenomenal race and came home with the fifth place.
The protagonists of Race2 were once again Mancini and Zanocz, who moved to the front after the start of the race. Zanocz lost ground in the first lap but did not lose hope and worked his way up; at the sixth lap the rider took the lead of the race and held it till the chequered flag when he won the race. Simone Mancini kept the third place for almost the entire race but lost it in the final lap and finished in fourth. Van Mechgelen crashed twice and could not do any better than the 17th place.
Thanks to the two excellent results, Noel Zanocz came home with the victory of the Italian International Championship first round.

I giovani ragazzi della classe 125 si sono distinti per velocità e grinta, nelle prove cronometrate ottima prestazione per Noel Zanocz che ha fatto segnare il secondo tempo, Simone Mancini ha chiuso le sue prove al quinto posto e il giovanissimo Douwe Van Mechgelen è 14°.
In gara 1 buona partenza per Mancini che riesce a trovare il guizzo giusto e si inserisce in seconda posizione che ha tenuto per alcuni giri, purtroppo Simone ha avuto un piccolo calo fisico che lo ha visto indietreggiare fino alla sesta posizione. Noel Zanocz al via non ha trovato il giusto spunto dal cancello e alla chiusura del primo giro è quinto ma grazie ad una ottima progressione che lo ha visto compiere molti sorpassi ha tagliato il traguardo in terza posizione. Van Mechgelen che è al rientro dopo un infortunio che lo ha tenuto lontano dalle piste per lungo tempo ha fatto una prestazione eccezionale andando a ottenere il quinto posto.
In gara 2 ancora protagonisti Mancini e Zanocz in partenza che si sono inseriti nella parte alta della classifica, Zanocz nel primo giro ha perso qualche posizione ma non si è perso d’animo e ha messo in mostra una grandissima rimonta che lo ha visto scalare la classifica e al sesto giro si porta al comando delle operazioni e non la lascerà fino sotto la bandiera a scacchi andando a vincere. Simone Mancini ha tenuto la terza posizione per quasi tutto la gara perdendola solo nell’ultimo giro chiudendo al quarto posto. Van Mechgelen complice anche una doppia caduta non ha potuto fare meglio del 17° posto.
Noel Zanocz grazie ai due ottimi risultati si porta a casa la vittoria del primo round degli Internazionali d’Italia.

“Siamo molto contenti di questo grande risultato che abbiamo conseguito qui a Riola Sardo su di una pista molto difficile dove i nostri ragazzi si sono distinti. Noel Zanocz ha messo in mostra un’ottima prestazione e con due ottimi risultati e la vittoria di gara 2 si è portato a casa la prima vittoria. Simone Mancini è stato molto veloce peccato solo per la prima manche dove ha avuto un calo fisico che gli ha impedito di fare bene. Van Mechgelen che rientrava dopo 4 mesi lontano dalle gare a causa di un infortunio ha impressionato nella prima manche e avrebbe fatto altrettando in gara due se non fosse caduto.”
